The Mazda3 was named one of the safest cars available in the United States in the 2024 IIHS ratings, and it was one of four compact cars on the Editors' Choice list of Car and Driver. In Taiwan the entry level 20S variant was discontinued in June 2024, and a Retro Sports Edition celebrated ten years of Mazda in Taiwan. The fourth generation was in its sixth year, still built in Japan, Mexico and Thailand.
