In 2024 Ford introduced a larger battery for the E-Transit, increasing the usable capacity from 68 kWh to 89 kWh. The fourth generation Transit was now sold in North America as the successor to the E-Series van, with the 3.5 liter EcoBoost and 3.7 liter V6 engines paired to a ten speed automatic, and in China it was marketed as the Transit T8 by JMC Ford after its introduction in August 2023. The E-Transit had a maximum cargo capacity of 3,880 pounds.
