For the 2023 model year the Premier trim was replaced by the 2LT trim, and the LT was no longer fitted with standard leather seats. The 2.0 liter engine was also discontinued, leaving the 1.5 liter turbo as the Malibu's only engine. The Malibu was the last Chevrolet sedan sold in North America. The 1.5 liter turbocharged engine thus became the only engine of the car, and the Malibu was the last Chevrolet sedan sold in North America, built at Fairfax until production ended in November 2024.
