In February 2022 Opel confirmed that the Insignia would be discontinued after the model completed its current generation lifecycle at the end of the year without a successor planned, due to poor sales and plans to shift to electric cars. In 2022 Vauxhall discontinued the Insignia from their model range. The Vauxhall Insignia was the British name of the Opel Insignia.
