Production of the Mondeo ended in Europe in March 2022, after thirty years, while the fifth generation sedan was released in China in January 2022, built by Changan Ford. The Mondeo ST-Line was unveiled on 24 February 2022 as a sporty variant exclusive to China. This year therefore saw both the end of the European Mondeo and the start of the Chinese one, which is marketed as the Taurus in the Middle East.
