The third generation Tourneo Connect for Europe was released in October 2021 as a rebadged fourth generation Volkswagen Caddy. In 2020 Ford had planned to bring the Caddy based Transit Connect to Australasia in the second quarter of 2024, and to move North American production to Mexico. It sat between the Transit Courier and the Transit Custom in the Ford Transit range. The Transit Connect was Ford's compact panel van, developed by Ford of Europe as a dedicated commercial vehicle.
