The plug in hybrid Escape became available at American dealers in October 2021 for the 2021 model year, able to travel 37 miles on electricity alone. The fourth generation Escape was launched in the GCC markets in 2021 with a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine in Ambiente and Trend grades. In the United States it was available in five trim levels from 2020 to 2022, S, SE, SE Sport, SEL and Titanium. The fourth generation Escape was related to the third generation Ford Kuga outside North America.
