The 2020 MDX was the last model year of the third generation, and the fourth generation arrived for 2022 with no 2021 model in between. It carried the 3.5 litre direct-injected V6, a nine-speed automatic, SH-AWD or front-wheel drive, the A-Spec package and the AcuraWatch safety suite. In June 2020 the RLX was discontinued, which left the MDX to become the brand's flagship when its next generation was introduced.
