For the 2019 model year Acura added an A-Spec appearance package for the MDX, with 20 inch Shark Grey wheels, a sportier front fascia and an interior with red or black leather and Alcantara inserts, available only with SH-AWD. The nine-speed automatic was enhanced for smoother acceleration, and the front seats gained power lumbar adjustment. It was a finalist for North American Car of the Year in the utility class.
