The 2018 Impala went from four trims to three, LS, LT and Premier, and the LT trim added Entertainment, Convenience and Leather package options. There was speculation that General Motors would discontinue the Impala in 2018 because of falling sales of full size sedans. The tenth generation was the first North American sedan in twenty years to earn the top score of Consumer Reports, and GM chief executive Mary Barra said that unlike Ford and FCA General Motors had no plans to exit the sedan market.
