Subsequent changes for 2014 were primarily limited to color choices. The 2014 MKZ was the second generation Lincoln luxury sedan, sharing the CD4 platform with the Ford Fusion and Mondeo, offered with a hybrid and with turbocharged engines, and built at Hermosillo in Mexico. The second generation MKZ Hybrid was rated 45 miles per gallon. It was manufactured at the Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly plant in Mexico. It was a mid size, four door, five passenger luxury sedan sold in North America and, from 2015, China.
