The 2013 Malibu moved to the GM Epsilon II platform and debuted in Asia in late 2011, followed by North America in 2012. Both ECO models went on sale in the spring of 2012, with the gasoline only models following in late summer of 2012, and the Turbo models in LT and LTZ trims, with specially tuned suspension and steering and larger brakes, followed in early 2013. In Australia and New Zealand the Korean made Malibu replaced the Holden Epica as the Holden Malibu in 2013.
