On 2 August 2010 it was announced that the British Touring Car Championship's NGTC prototype car would be built around the Toyota Avensis, with Toyota supplying a donor car and a new body shell. All the third generation engines were mated to a six speed manual transmission. It was model year 2 of 10 in the Toyota Avensis (third generation, T270), 2009 to 2018, coming after the 2009 model year and before the 2011 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Avensis run from 1997 to 2018.
