The 2009 Compass was a compact crossover SUV with a softer hatchback look, similar to the Dodge Caliber, sharing the GS platform with the Patriot, which was a traditionally styled four door Jeep wagon. It was assembled at Belvidere, Illinois, and, like the earlier models, did not carry the Trail Rated badge. The Sport served as the base model, with the Latitude as the midrange model and the Limited as the top of the line model.
