The facelifted Innova debuted on 26 August 2008 in Indonesia, with an updated front bumper and grille design, new taillights and redesigned wheels, and it was launched in the Philippines in November 2008. In January 2008 the G grade could be optioned as a seven seater with the Captain Seat sub grade. It was model year 5 of 11 in the Toyota Innova (first generation, AN40), 2004 to 2014, coming after the 2007 model year and before the 2009 model year.
