The Indian first generation Ikon was facelifted in November 2008 and received a new common rail diesel engine of the Duratorq family, while the second generation was facelifted in June 2008. Features included an MP3 player, a rear spoiler, alloy wheels, new headlamps and clear taillamps. The Ikon was a small Ford sedan built on the Fiesta platform for markets where buyers wanted a sedan, such as India and South Africa. Ford sold the same basic design under the Fiesta and Ikon names depending on the country.
