The fourth generation Eclipse for the 2006 model year, introduced in May 2005, used the PS platform in place of the Chrysler platform of the third generation, and like the 2004 Galant and third generation Eclipse was front wheel drive only. A concept model with a MillenWorks designed all wheel drive system was produced by Mitsubishi and Ralliart. It was built in Normal, Illinois, with a 2.4 liter four or a 3.8 liter V6.
