In February 2006 a four door sedan went on sale, the first sedan type for the Barina nameplate, after Holden had dropped the Opel sourced Barina in December 2005 and rebadged the Daewoo Kalos hatchback. The Daewoo sourced Holden Barina scored a lower two out of five star ANCAP rating than its European built, Opel based predecessor, and the 2006 sedan was criticized for its crash test results. The 2006 Barina TK was the Daewoo Kalos based car, which added a sedan alongside the hatchback from February 2006.
