Toyota redesigned the Vitz in early 2005, going on sale in Japan that February. The European, Australian, Canadian, Mexican, Venezuelan and Puerto Rican markets received the second generation near the end of 2005, and in June 2005 Toyota Australia launched the Echo Rush. This was the first model year of the Toyota Yaris (second generation, XP90), 2005 to 2010, which took over from the Toyota Yaris (first generation, XP10 and XP20); the 2006 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Yaris run from 1999 to 2022.
