The first generation Noah and Voxy were released on 16 November 2001 as front wheel drive minivans with two rear sliding doors. It replaced the rear wheel drive based TownAce and LiteAce Noah and kept the R model code series. This was the first model year of the Toyota Noah (first generation, R60), 2001 to 2006, the first generation covered for the Toyota Noah; the 2002 model year follows it.
