Sales of the LS 430 began in October 2000 in the United States as a 2001 model. It introduced a new body design with a lidar sensor adaptive cruise control that, unlike the laser system of 1997, could activate the brakes to decelerate. This was the first model year of the Lexus LS (third generation, XF30), 2001 to 2006, which took over from the Lexus LS (second generation, XF20); the 2002 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Lexus LS run from 1990 to 2026.
