The second generation Avalon arrived for the 2000 model year. In Australia a locally built Avalon went into production in April 2000 and Toyota launched it in June 2000 as an all new model built from the tooling of the earlier American Avalon. This was the first model year of the Toyota Avalon (second generation, XX20), 2000 to 2004, which took over from the Toyota Avalon (first generation, XX10); the 2001 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Avalon run from 1995 to 2026.
