The second generation was in its final year in 1999, still with Revision 5, as the MR-S was introduced in October 1999 to the Japanese market in B, Standard and S trims, sold exclusively at Netz dealers. The Spider conversions of Toyota TechnoCraft ended that year. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota MR2 (second generation, W20), 1989 to 1999, and the Toyota MR2 (third generation, W30) came next, following the 1998 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota MR2 run from 1984 to 2007.
