A larger derivative, the Mitsubishi Toppo BJ Wide, was introduced in 1999 and produced from January 1999 until March 2001. It was a non kei version with enlarged bumpers, a 1.1 liter engine and five seats instead of four, sold beside the kei sized Toppo BJ. The Toppo BJ was a tall light recreational vehicle derived from the Minica kei car. In Japan the Toppo was sold at a specific retail chain called Galant Shop.
