The 1998 Villager was the last year of the first generation, a front wheel drive passenger van sold in GS and LS trims, which was produced alongside the Nissan Quest by Ford at its Ohio Assembly facility in Avon Lake. While the exterior and interior had been designed mainly by Nissan, many interior components were sourced from Ford, such as the optional rear seat radio controls and air conditioning vents. The Villager was a front wheel drive minivan sold by Mercury.
