In July 1997 Mazda discontinued the Eunos brand and the Eunos 800 was renamed the Mazda Millenia in Japan. The Eunos 800 had been sold beside the smaller Xedos 6, which in these markets was the Eunos 500. The Millenia was in the fifth year of its production, with its Miller cycle engine making up the line of the S model, and was built in Japan for all markets. It was built by Mazda in Japan. Mazda claimed the attention to detail was meant to set standards for at least ten years.
