1997 Geo Metro

Automobiles

In response to the waning popularity of smaller automobiles in the North American markets, Chevrolet and Geo had sold only 55,600 Metros in 1997, off from 88,700 the year before. The three cylinder 1.0 liter throttle body injected engine, still used on base models, was available for non LSi models in 1997, and LSi models produced after 1997 featured the four cylinder engine with a sixteen valve head. The Geo nameplate ended after 1997.
