The AZ-3 of 1997 was in its seventh year, a hatchback coupe of Mazda whose catch phrase meant that it was sensitive to the driver, with the E platform of Mazda and a rear window curved in three dimensions. It was sold with a 1.5 liter inline four or a 1.8 liter V6, at a time when the Autozam channel was heading toward its end, and the car was to be discontinued in the following spring. The AZ-3 used the E platform of Mazda.
