The B series of 1996 was in its twelfth year of the fourth generation, a pickup truck with a five speed manual and optional part time four wheel drive in most markets. In Japan it was sold as the Proceed, and Mazda sold the SUV version as the Proceed Marvie, and the Ford Raider in Australia. In Australia and New Zealand the B series was named the Mazda Bravo and Mazda Bounty, respectively. Through its association with Ford, Mazda produced the B series as the Ford Courier and the Ford Ranger.
