For 1996 the larger 3.8 liter V6 became the 3800 Series II and bumped power to 205 horsepower and 230 pound feet of torque, and all models were modified to be OBD II compliant. A special Olympic Gold edition, also available on the Skylark, was added to celebrate Buick's partnership with the 1996 Summer Olympics, with gold accents and Olympic logos. It was the last year of the third generation Regal.
