1995 was the final model year of the second generation Sable, and the rare LTS trim level was added. The Sable of 1995 was a mid size Mercury sedan and wagon, the counterpart of the Ford Taurus, with driver and passenger airbags, and it would be replaced for 1996 by the third generation with an oval styling theme. Over its production run more than 2.1 million Sables were built in total. The second generation Sable was a mid size car, offered as a four door sedan and a five door station wagon.
