In 1995 the second generation MX-6 was refreshed with different five spoke alloy wheels and emissions changes, and another major change after 1995 was the addition of OBD-II diagnostics to the car. The A-spec models never received four wheel steering. The MX-6 was by then in its ninth year, built at Flat Rock for the United States and in Japan for the other markets. The MX-6, 626 and Ford Probe were built at joint venture plants, by AutoAlliance in Flat Rock for North America or in Japan for Asia and Europe.
