The sixth generation Lancer in 1994 was in its fourth year, a four door sedan with a four window greenhouse, derived from but distinct from the Mirage sedan, with the Evolution I to III spin offs for rallying. The wagon and van variant was exported as the Lancer Wagon and sold in Japan as the Libero. The next, seventh, generation would be introduced the next year as a cost saving rebadge of the Mirage. The Lancer was marketed under many names including Colt, Mirage and Eagle Summit in various countries.
