The Granada Mark III was the last car to bear the Granada badge in the United Kingdom and Ireland, being replaced in 1994 with the pan European Scorpio, which shared its platform, doors and roof. The nose and tail were updated to match the ovoid designs used across the Ford range in the 1990s, resulting in a controversial design. After a redesign in 1998 the Scorpio went out of production, with total European sales of 95,587 units.
