The E30 Touring was the last survivor. Tourings had been made from 1988 to 1994, and the final E30 of all, a Touring, was produced in 1994 and sold as a 1995 model year car. This brought to an end twelve years of the second 3 Series, which had been the car that made BMW's compact executive saloon a worldwide success. The E36 Touring did not go on sale until March 1995, so the old Touring filled the wagon slot until then.
