The MS-8 of 1993 was in its second year, a luxury hardtop style sedan with only a four speed automatic gearbox, whose lever was mounted on the dashboard next to the air conditioning controls. That left out the floor console between the front seats and allowed a split front bench seat. The climate and audio display sat in a thin slit atop the dashboard, and the sunroof was very large for its day. The MS-8 was based on the 1991-1997 Mazda Cronos, the Capella sedan.
