For 1992 the Tempo and Topaz were mildly restyled, the Tempo gaining body colored side trim in place of the black and chrome trim, as well as full body colored bumpers, and a body colored monochromatic grille in place of its three bar chrome piece. The 3.0 liter Vulcan V6 from the Taurus and Sable was introduced as an option for the GL and LX and as standard on the GLS, and the tachometer now read to 7,000 rpm.
