In a minor change in March 1992 the MS-6 gained a grade with a viscous coupling full time four wheel drive system and a 2.0 liter inline four FS-DE engine. The car was marketed as the sportier of the two, beside the sedan only Cronos, and in Europe the same car was sold as the Mazda 626 from 1992 to 1997. It was praised in Europe, above all in Germany. The name MS-6 joins the initials of Megalo Spirits, the great aspiration meant by the Efini brand, with a number for the class of the car.
