Four door E30 production ended on 29 February 1992 for all markets, and the sporting versions like the 325is Evolution 1 and 2 were produced until the same year. After this the E30 survived only as the convertible and Touring, as the E36 now supplied the saloon and coupe in the 3 Series line. South African four cylinder production also continued until 1992. The Series 2 Touring and the convertible remained on sale across Europe.
