In March 1990 another facelift gave the Rex a 660 cc version of the four cylinder engine and a longer, more rounded nose, in line with new kei car regulations that took effect that year. These changes reached Australia in August and Europe, where the cars were called Mini Jumbo and M80, only in early 1991. In some export markets the Sambar microvan was marketed as the Rex Combi. The third generation was sold in Europe as the M70 and M80, and in Australia as the Sherpa and Fiori.
