1989 Ford E-Series

Automobiles

Because of the popularity of automatic transmissions in full size vans, Ford discontinued all manual transmissions after the 1989 model year, so the E Series of 1989 was the last with a manual gearbox. It was a body on frame van with a diesel V8 as an option. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
