The turbocharged MR version of the Chariot with the 1,795 cc 4G62 engine, making 135 PS, was available in Japan from July 1983 until the 1987 model year, and could reach 175 km/h. The Chariot of 1987 was in its fifth year on sale, and in Australia the Nimbus carried the model code UC in 1987. The Chariot was sold in most export markets as the Mitsubishi Space Wagon. The Chariot's wheelbase was 2,625 mm. A single 1.8-litre GLX version, with manual or automatic transmission, was assembled from CKD kits in New Zealand by importer Todd Motors.
