1987 Ford Scorpio

Automobiles

By around 1987 the Chubb AVA lock barrel that was initially fitted to Scorpio models at launch was replaced by the Tibbe lock. The Scorpio sat on a stretched version of the Sierra floorpan, and used a similar styling philosophy set by both the Sierra and the third generation Escort. The larger V6 engine was later replaced by a 2.9 litre derivative of the Cologne V6, while the 2.4 remained in production until 1994. It replaced the European Granada.
