For the first time extended and four door cabs were available on the Courier of 1987, which was a compact pickup built by Mazda for Ford. It had the options of a V6 and four wheel drive, and it was sold worldwide except for North America, where the Ranger by then filled the compact truck role. It began as a sedan delivery, became a Mazda built compact pickup, and later a Fiesta based van and coupe utility. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans.
