New options of the Courier in 1986 included five speed manual transmissions, four wheel drive and a V6 engine, and it was offered with a larger cab than before. It was a rebadged Mazda built compact pickup and was sold in Australia and many other parts of the world. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans. It began as a sedan delivery, became a Mazda built compact pickup, and later a Fiesta based van and coupe utility.
