1986 Classic Mini

Automobiles

Mini production reached 39,800 in 1986, the year the Rover Group name was given to British Leyland. Austin Rover kept up a steady stream of limited editions, with colours, graphics and trim, which proved very successful marketing strategies for a design that was by then 27 years old, and the Mini once again sold in healthy numbers as a cheap city car. The Rover Group name took over from BL plc in 1986.
