After 1.6 million units assembled of the model line, Chevrolet discontinued the Citation after the 1985 model year. For 1984 Chevrolet had rebranded its Citation line as the Citation II, to draw attention away from previous safety recalls. After 23 years and five generations General Motors retired the X platform entirely for its compact cars after 1985. This page belongs to the Chevrolet Citation model on its Chevrolet make page, and it links to the generation and the neighbouring model years so that the whole run of the model can be followed in order.
