1984 Mazda 323

Automobiles

By 1984 the fifth generation Familia, the BD, was in its fifth year as a front wheel drive hatchback and saloon, with the 1.3 and 1.5 liter engines and the XGI Turbo of 1983, and a wagon in parallel. The American GLC was Mazda's cheapest car, and the Ford Laser and Meteor were its Asian and Pacific twins. It was replaced by the sixth generation, the BF, in 1985. Mazda built the Familia at its Hiroshima plant and also assembled it from knock down kits in several countries.
