In South Africa the P100 of 1984 was available in both short wheelbase and long wheelbase variants, while the European version had a lengthened chassis and tray. It was a coupe utility built there on the Cortina Mk5, and the Ford 1 Tonner name was also used in South Africa. The P100 was a coupe utility pickup that Ford built on the front half of a family car, sold first in South Africa and then in Europe. It began as the Cortina Pickup and ended in 1995 on the Sierra, built in Portugal.
