In 1982 the Charger returned for a second year as the performance option for the Omni 024. Nothing was changed from 1981 apart from a Pentastar emblem on the hood and a resonator added to the exhaust, since the earlier car had relied on the catalytic converter alone to reduce engine noise. The Omni 024 and its Plymouth Horizon TC3 sibling were two door sloping hatchbacks on the shortened L platform, and they shared a 70 horsepower 1.7 liter Volkswagen four cylinder engine in their first years.
